The one with bridesmaids, Bucharest, bugs and a bold little demo you won’t want to miss…

What’s Been Going On in LinkedIn Land

Recruiters need verifying now.

If you’re already working in recruitment, don’t panic just yet.  It won’t hit you immediately.

But if you’re new to the sector, LinkedIn will now ask you to verify your account to help crack down on scammy, fake recruiter spam.

Business verification? That’ll be £100 a month, please!

If you want to verify your company page, you’ll need to upgrade to LinkedIn Premium for businesses. It’s currently £100 per month. Whether it’s worth it?

That’s a solid maybe from us, ok, ok it’s a NO, for us, it’s just not worth it! Not when you can build credibility in other ways.

Post analytics just got juicier…

You can now see how many people are saving and sharing your posts, even on personal profiles.
That’s a big win.

Finally some proper insight into what’s working behind the scenes.

CapCut now integrates with LinkedIn.

This one’s a win for the video creators. CapCut now works directly with LinkedIn so editing and uploading just got smoother.

No more faffing around with file conversions and dodgy previews. Love to see it.

Engagement rules are shifting again

LinkedIn is rewarding deeper engagement.

Think longer posts, thoughtful carousels, chunky captions and comments that say more than “love this.” Three to four solid posts a week is the sweet spot. Less post and hope, more purpose.

LinkedIn wants to use your content to train its AI

Yep. It’s happening.

By default, your content will now be used to train AI models unless you opt out in your privacy settings.
So if the idea of being an unpaid AI assistant doesn’t thrill you, go into your data settings and switch it off.

New Career Hub launched inside LinkedIn Learning

This new space helps you explore roles, skill up and find pathways to progress.  AI is the big theme here.

They’ve even made 34 AI courses and 4 full learning tracks free until late November. Worth a scroll if you want to sharpen your edge before 2024.

Duolingo scores are showing up on profiles

Jem spotted this on the DuoLingo mobile app. If you've done any Duolingo language learning, it can now show on your profile.

But please don’t test Jem on her Norwegian just yet. She’s not ready.

What’s Been Going On at SocialJems

Sarah Agana was a bridesmaid and looked stunning

She absolutely rocked it, the same way she rocks every challenge.
Calm, collected, spreadsheet in hand and looking the part. We always knew she'd nail it.

Freddie’s caught the back-to-school bug

Kids are walking germ factories and his son did not disappoint.
Freddie’s been battling the classic post-summer lurgy, like many of us. Someone pass the Lemsip.

Jem had a proper recharge in Bucharest

She took her mother-in-law to a spa (huge win) and soaked up the vibes, the city and the steam room. A little break that came at just the right time. And of course, she took her laptop. She slows down, but rarely stops.

LinkedIn weddings and lovely humans

Jem’s also been making the rounds at weddings, and not just any weddings.
These were celebrations for people she met through LinkedIn. Rosie. Jade. Liz & Richard.

All incredible business owners, carving their own paths, doing it their way and smashing it.

She left every single one feeling inspired, energised and so grateful to have these people in her world.

This is exactly why we always say LinkedIn is more than a platform. It’s a community.

Sarah Bostock is still bossing it

She continues to support a few of our lovely SocialJems clients while building her own thing. She recently marked the anniversary of Joe’s passing, a hard day, of course, but she celebrated his birthday in true Sarah style. With, heart and a toast to the memories.

SocialJems x SoAIsy Live Event

Let’s be honest. People will always look for DIY tools to help with social media. Especially when they’re just starting out. And we get it.

That’s why we partnered with SoAIsy.

It’s the one tool we’ve seen that doesn’t churn out nonsense. It gives you content that actually sounds like you — and helps you grow your brand properly.

So we’re showing it off. Live. No pressure. No hard sell. Just a demo where Jem and Simon take you behind the scenes and show you what SoAIsy can really do.

The SocialGames Christmas Party is ON

We missed it. You missed it. So we’re doing it again.
But this time it’s festive. And louder.

It’s networking, but with sparkle. No sales. No cringe. Just vibes.

🎩 Magician
🎤 Karaoke (yes, for real)
🍕 Nibbles
🍻 Beer pong
🎶 DJ
🥂 First drink on us
🎄 Fancy dress (Jem's thinking elf, obviously)

🔗 Grab your ticket

Our first sponsor is already locked in, SoAIsy, of course. Want to be the second? Drop Jem, Ryan Mulhern, Shaun Thompson or Martha Phillips a message and let’s talk.

Final Word

Between the weddings, demos, Duolingo alerts and LinkedIn trying to sneak your content into their AI model, September delivered a lot.

If you’re feeling behind, stuck, or just overwhelmed trying to juggle it all, you’re not alone.
You’ve got us.

And whether it’s SocialJems or SoAIsy, we’re here to help you show up properly without burning yourself out in the process.

You know where we are.
